Summer Program Lead

June 2013 - July 2019

SAT Supervisor

April 2014 - December 2019

Taking the SAT is a necessary requirement to attend many universities, and a stressful time for test-taking students. As an experienced proctor, I am able to run the test smoothly in an equitable test environment.

Imagine being able to create your dream curriculum. No schedule to follow, no standards to cover, just the opportunity to take students outside of the classroom and offer authentic learning experiences. As part of the Summer Program Design Team I was able to create and teach a 1 month thematic curriculum for K-2 students. English Compilation Creator

April 2018 - April 2020

One of the wonderful things about teaching English is reading beautifully crafted pieces of student work. A blank page is the best listener for many teenagers. It's place where they can share their thoughts and feelings and fight for injustices in the world. As a teacher, I want my students' voices to be heard. I want to share all the powerful work my students have submitted... But how? The Middle School English Compilation. With support of the PTO and a collection of brave students willing to showcase their work the Middle School Publication was born. It features a collection of different types of writing from grades 6, 7 and 8. It is often students first opportunity to see their work published and a great way to share what's happening in English with the school community. Stay tuned for the 2020 Compilation.

ES Yearbook Coordinator

August 2015 - July 2018

Yearbooks are a way to cherish memories and reflect on  the past. As the opportunity arose to be a part of something so special, I knew I had to become involved. In 2015, I became the designer for the ES yearbook. I began the process from scratch and worked with a team of teachers to create something that we knew the students would love. We involved students in the process from start to finish. From picking the art, to developing a theme, we made sure their ideas were at the center of the design. EE Trip Lead

August 2017 - April 2019

KIS is an applied education school, which means students have the opportunity to take their learning outside the classroom and have authentic experiences. Our first, and longest running applied learning program is the 8th Grade Experiential Education Trip. Students spend 2 nights and 3 days in rural Korea rafting, caving and hiking in the glorious countryside. Our goal is to leave zero trace left behind. Students learn to set up tents, wash dishes and cook their own meals. They learn the importance of responsibility and spend time collaborating and developing meaningful friendships. As a trip lead, I was responsible for trip R&D, leading and supporting staff members and participating in all group activities. Watch the clip above to see a few highlights from the trip.

SheFigther Trainer

November 2018 - November 2019

As soon as I heard Lina Khalifeh, found of SheFighter speak, I knew I had found a kindred spirit. She understands the importance of empowering women and building confidence though health and physical activity. To learn more about the movement...
